The Cuban men’s volleyball national team trained on Wednesday to seek in the weekend its ticket for the World Cup to be hosted next year in Italy.
The Cuban team will face on Friday its Canadian, Suriname’s and Bahamas’ counterparts in the Sports City of Havana, hosting the 3rd eliminatory round of the group “H” from the North, Central American and Caribbean region.
The matches, to be scheduled on Thursday will be held at 15:00 and 17: 00.
The team, coached by Orlando Samuels and won the 4th place in the last edition of the World League, aspires to win the only ticket given for the group.
Meanwhile, the eliminatory of the group “F” will be hosted in U.S. with the teams from Dominican Republic, Panama, Guatemala and the United States.
The second places of each group and the best third will join Mexico to play a series, the two best teams will fulfill the classified group already formed by Puerto Rico.
Also three teams from Africa, four from Asia, two from South America and eight from Europe will compete at the World Cup, to make a total of 24 teams.
